There are a couple of different reasons you may want to buy truck tires. Here are a couple of pros and cons to getting truck tires -- or oversized tires.

Pros

Better Traction - Your car will have much better traction if you customize it with bigger car wheels. This may even be necessary because of the area that you reside in. Either way, bigger car wheels will allow for better traction and stabilization.

Great Handling - This is true, but only if the car wheel is low profile. Fat, low profile tires will often allow for better grip and handling, especially around curves and tight driving area. Remember though, the tires can be big but not tall.

Cons

Too Heavy - The manufacturer usually puts the correct car wheel on the car and a lot of the reason the wheel size is chosen is based on weight. By putting bigger wheels on your car you are risking damaging your axles, brakes and suspension of your car. This in turn could ruin your car and have you spending much more money then you should.

Comfort - Forget about any sort of comfort during you car ride if you put big wheels on your car. The bigger the wheel is, the lower the side profile is. This basically means that there is not enough cushion so you will feel every pothole, every small bump, and every change in the road pattern.
